Help Josh Lane's Children in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
As most of you have heard, a life-long resident and town supporter, Josh Lane, passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident on June 1st 2025. As a descendent of the Colby and Naticook Farm legacy, he was a fifth-generation resident of Litchfield whose town roots run deep. He is survived by his 2 children, Maddy (20) and Nathan (16). Josh, and his children were all heavily involved with Litchfield recreation weather through playing and coaching youth sports as well as supporting many recreational based projects. The LRC would like to help the family by donating prizes that will be used at an upcoming charity event to support Maddy and Nate Lane in the wake of this tragedy. Here are just some of their involvements in town/rec based programs over their time here in Litchfield.

Maddy:
o Played rec softball until she aged out after 12u.
o Played for the Litchfield Smash for 1 season and the Blast for three seasons at 10u and 12u levels.
o Played varsity at CHS started as a freshman and until she graduated in 2023.
o Her 12u Blast team went to the World Series in Florida in 2016 after winning the New Hampshire Babe Ruth State Championship.
o While at CHS, her softball teams also won state champs and runner up while Maddy played for them. She was also the manager of the girls’ basketball team for one year.

Nate:
o Played Rec baseball and travel basketball.
o Has played football for the last 3 years at CHS and was a big part of the championship season in 2024. He is looking forward to contributing even more next year as a senior.

Josh:
o Had been a constant supporter and fan throughout his kids lives.
o Volunteered consistently in rec sports and around town.
o Sponsored many of the Rec softball & baseball teams by donating money and having his company name Lane Roofing on the shirts.
o Coached Maddy and her Blast team
o Helped construct the dugouts on 12u & 10u fields at Roy Memorial Park.
o Helped construct the Roy Memorial Park sign outside of Darrah.
o Advocated for the River Access construction at public hearings and the purpose of impact fees for such projects.
o Helped to build the concession stand and storage shed at the Jeff Lane baseball fields.

It is certainly evident how much of a mark Josh left on the community and he will is missed by many. The date and time for this charity event is currently TBD, but is being planned to be held at AJ's Sports Bar & Grill, one of Josh's favorite establishments. All proceeds will be collected by the LRC and used to donate items for for this event to help support the Lane family. Thank you in advance for your support.
