Hi everyone,

Most of you know my dad, Jose. To know him was truly to love him. He is a devoted father, a fighter, and a man who has always meant everything to his family. He could put a smile on anyone’s face. There was always so much to love about him.

For the past 60 days, my dad has been hospitalized after suffering severe medical complications. Over the last few years, he has battled end-stage kidney failure and has been on dialysis, which caused widespread complications throughout his body. During this hospitalization, he underwent a left leg amputation and multiple additional procedures, along with serious open wounds and infections that caused further setbacks, leading to further health challenges.

Despite his declining health, my dad continued to fight. While conscious and able to speak for himself, he made his wishes very clear to us. He did not want hospice. He was determined to keep fighting. He did not want to give up. He wanted to continue treatment and live. As his daughter, I have fought every single day to be his voice and to honor what he asked for. I truly believe that God alone decides when it is time for someone to leave this earth.

Sadly, his wishes were ultimately overridden by one person he entrusted with legal power and over the past several days ALL treatments and care have been stopped, including food and water. Watching this happen has completely shattered our family. We are devastated beyond words.

My dad leaves behind six beautiful daughters and a family who loves him more than we can ever express. All we want right now is to be by his side, to love him, comfort him, and support him during these incredibly painful moments.

Most of his daughters live in New York, while my dad is in Florida. Traveling on short notice, along with hotel stays, food, and transportation, has become a heavy financial burden. We are humbly asking for help so we can be with our father in his final days and later cover the costs to honor and memorialize his life.
