Hello loved ones,

Thank you for taking the time to read this request that I am making on behalf of my brother Joseph. As most of you know, this year has been extremely difficult on our family after losing our father unexpectedly to cancer. It was thanks to your incredible generosity that we were able to grant his final wishes and send him home. I come to you now once more to humbly ask for your help to bring new life into this world.

My beloved brother Joseph, his beautiful wife Jess, and my angelic niece Opal are expecting a new baby in January. Preparations were going well until our father’s cancer diagnosis during the latter half of Jess’s pregnancy. Joseph unfortunately had to burn through all of the PTO he was saving for the birth and take several weeks unpaid on top of that to help care for and bury our father at the end of his life. As many of us can imagine and relate, missing several weeks of work creates significant financial stress, even without the upcoming birth of a new baby.

Joseph and Jess live in Texas where there are no laws in place to guarantee pay while a person takes family leave for any reason, especially not paternal parental leave. Joseph is the breadwinner of his family and needs your help to take some additional time off work so he can be present with his family for the once in a lifetime opportunity of the birth of a new child.

Joseph and Jess are incredible parents who have raised an absolutely amazing child for four years. They have ALWAYS shown up for everyone in the family in their time of need, and whoever else comes to them for help. I can think of no one more deserving of receiving that same generosity in return.
