On Sunday night, Jose, his girlfriend, and their two children, including a newborn, were forced to run for their lives when a fire started in the kitchen of their townhouse. Jose yelled for his girlfriend to grab the kids and get out, and as he tried to escape, the flames had already grown dangerously high. He suffered third-degree burns to his left hand, his dominant hand, and was rushed to the trauma unit. After surgery, he was discharged from the hospital, but the family is now facing the devastating reality that they cannot return home. Even though the fire was mainly in the kitchen, the fire department determined the townhouse is unlivable because of the smoke damage and the water from the sprinklers. In just one night, they lost the place they called home and most of their belongings.
This fundraiser is to help Jose and his family take the next steps forward, because he is unable to returned to work until doctors clear him to do so. The funds will go toward finding new housing and replacing the everyday essentials they lost in the fire. Right now, they are trying to care for two young children while also recovering from a painful injury and the shock of losing so much so suddenly. Please help if you can. Even a small donation can make a real difference. No amount is too small, and every act of kindness is deeply appreciated. If donating is not possible, please share this campaign with friends, family, and your community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Jose and his family during this heartbreaking time.
