Helping Jonine Heal, Relocate, and Rebuild Near Family

Over a year ago, my doctor called the morning after a routine blood test and told me to call 911 immediately. My potassium level was so dangerously low it could have stopped my heart.

That moment changed everything.

The medical crisis led to severe nerve damage that left me temporarily in a wheelchair. Since then, I’ve been working every day to rebuild my strength and independence.

At 70 years old, my goal now is simple: to relocate to Middle Tennessee so I can be near my daughter and grandchildren while I continue recovering.

I’m not asking for luxury. I’m asking for the chance to heal surrounded by the people I love.

Transparency and Updates

I document my recovery and relocation journey publicly so supporters can follow along. You can read updates and see my progress at joninescott.com.

My Recovery

The nerve damage didn’t appear overnight. For months before the emergency, I had been experiencing cramps, numbness, and weakness that slowly moved through my body.

Because of a past gastric bypass surgery, my body absorbs nutrients differently, which contributed to a severe potassium depletion that nearly stopped my heart.

Recovery has been slow and humbling.

But I kept moving forward.

I enrolled in online college courses, began learning new digital skills, and started writing publicly about rebuilding life after a medical crisis. My goal has been to remain independent, hopeful, and focused on the future.

Why Tennessee

Tennessee isn’t just a place on the map.

It’s where my daughter and grandchildren live.

After everything that happened, I’ve learned something very important: recovery is much harder alone.

Being near family would provide the support, stability, and connection that every person needs during healing.
