My aunt Julie has been dealing with an aggressive cancer diagnosis for the last five years. It has cost her so much, including most of her stomach and intestines, which had to be drastically reduced in size to remove cancerous tumors. These last few months have been devastating for her as her body was not able to absorb enough calories, and she was essentially starving to death. The doctors have put a feeding tube in her nose to try and get her healthy again, but it has been so difficult for her to face this on her own.

My mother, a former RN and skilled caretaker, decided to leave home in Virginia Beach, VA, and become Julie's personal full-time nurse in Jefferson, Iowa. Joni has put her life on hold to be there every step of the way. From hospital and doctor's visits to home care, Joni is doing everything she can to ensure her sister gets the best possible care and that she continues to battle for good health. However, this unexpected situation has put a heavy burden on my mom, who cannot work while providing full-time support.

With mounting bills and everyday expenses piling up, Joni needs our help. Despite the emotional and physical toll, she has never asked for anything.
