Hello friends, my/our dear friend Jones is facing an incredibly challenging situation. While working full-time, he is also the primary caregiver for his elderly widowed mother, who suffers from dementia and other serious health issues. To ensure she receives the care she needs while he is at work, Jones pays for part-time home health attendants, adding to an already overwhelming financial burden.

I met Jones at one of my first acting gigs in NYC about a decade ago and we instantly connected as he is sweet, kind and well mannered in ways that you rarely find in people nowadays. He was also singing in a local opera chorus and had a comprimario role. Then Covid happened and shortly after he also lost his beloved father.

For the past three years, Jones and his mother have struggled to sell her co-op apartment, which they can no longer afford. After a long and difficult wait, a buyer has finally signed a contract to purchase the property. However, until the sale is finalized—expected in August or September 2026—his mother remains responsible for the monthly co-op expenses.

Between loan repayments, caregiving costs, housing expenses, and other essential bills, Jones and his mother are experiencing severe financial hardship. They urgently need assistance to help them bridge the gap until the apartment sale is completed and to avoid the very real risk of financial devastation and housing insecurity.
