Johnny Burke, aka “Grandpa,” just discovered he has throat cancer, and it is already at Stage 3. He will be starting EBRT (external beam radiation therapy) right away. This treatment is administered 5 days a week for 7 weeks.

For those of you who know Johnny, you know he would give the shirt off his back to anybody, no questions asked. He will go out of his way to help someone, and I can bet, if you know him, he has probably helped you at some point in time.

Now, Johnny needs our help. He cannot afford the gas to get to his treatment at UC Davis. He also shouldn’t have to do it alone. He has no family in the area, so let’s pull together and help Grandpa out! If you can donate, even “just a gallon” or a ride, it will make it possible for him to receive his treatment. Another alternative would be giving him a ride once or once a week (even better). Johnny would love the company and it’s a relatively short procedure.

Johnny is 71 years old; doesn’t drink alcohol or caffeine and has never smoked; he just got dealt a bad hand. He’s tough, he can beat this cancer — with our help! Let’s show him how much we care
