Hi Neighbors!

We are raising $$ to assist a life-long Rutherford resident, John Yanick,

73 years old, who recently lost his fully paid-off home after his mother died. He has been living without shelter since this summer. We are reaching out to the generous community to help us pay for a temporary location for him to live.

Many people on the West Side of Rutherford will recognize John as a staple of the neighborhood, and scores of people have reached out to us with offers of help.

The longer-term plan is to find an affordable apartment or home for him. He has spent a lot of time in Sunset Park, but we are worried for him sleeping outside with the increasingly cold weather.

Our goal is to pay for immediate shelter and then use any money left over to help him with ongoing shelter and living costs.
