Help John and Paula get back on their feet

My close friends, John and Paula, have been through things this year that nobody should have to deal with. On July 24th they welcomed another beautiful baby girl, Mia, only to find out that she has a bowel disease called Necrotising Enterocolitis. She had emergency surgery which resulted in 80% of her bowel being taken away. They now face at least 6 months living with her in Sheffield Children’s Hospital with accommodation being provided by an amazing charity, The Sick Children’s Trust. John has had to leave work as a roofer so he can be there for Mia and their other children. One of their daughters, Emily, has cerebral palsy, so trips to and from the hospital are frequent, as well as coping with her other complex needs. Paula works from home part time as a nail technician to support their family.
Whilst they have been staying at the hospital with their youngest daughter, their home has been burgled. Absolutely ransacked. I’m heartbroken for them. The scum have literally taken everything, ipads, jewellery, bags, John’s tools, cash, a large coin collection, even one of Emily’s feeding pump machines that she relies on to keep her alive. Even chocolate and crisps out the cupboard!! Worst of all they have taken all of Paula’s nail equipment that she has built up over years of hard work. This means she can no longer work to support their family through this awful time.
Unfortunately they were not insured. The renewal had just been forgotten about during these hectic last few months. This means that now neither of them can work and they have no income to replace any of the items that were stolen.
I’m trying to raise as much money as possible to replace Paula’s nail equipment so she can get back to work. And also to replace their children’s toys and other items that were stolen. Please help if you can, this could be anyone of us. We all fall on difficult times and its our friends and family that pull together and help us through. Let’s help
something positive come out off all this.
