Help John and Ann Rebuild After Foreclosure

My name is John Bunker. I've been married to my wife Ann for almost 30 years now. We have two great children who have grown into wonderful adults with families of their own.

Ann and I have had a good marriage, with all the ups and downs anybody has. But these last 5 years or so have definitely been on the down slope. I lost my job 4 years ago and was denied unemployment. I ended up getting another job for less money. I eventually got a new job making more money, but unfortunately, it didn't help.

In the midst of the job changes, Ann and I were going through bankruptcy, trying to get our heads above water. Sadly, because of the job changes and a big failure from our bankruptcy lawyer, the court dismissed our case. All the bills we had been trying to get caught up on ended up coming due, including our mortgage.

We ended up being $13,000 behind and there was no way of catching it up. We were foreclosed on, losing not only a home that had been in my family ever since the 1960s, but Ann and I's home of almost 30 years.

At 53 years old, I was basically homeless. If not for the kindness of some friends and good people, we would have been. Now Ann and I have hit another stumbling block. The place we have been staying was short-term for the winter. We have to vacate it by May 1st. So, once again, we are forced to move and start over.

We are going to move downstate to Detroit and I will transfer to a store location down there, but Ann will have to find a job when we get there. Needless to say, we are not prepared. Having to start over, again and again, is stressful and exhausting.

I am doing this in the hope that we can gain some help, some relief, some way to keep our head above water. I have always been very independent, to the point of beating myself up, to do things on my own. I resist help, trying to find a way to manage any situation.

I have come to realize and grudgingly accept, I can no longer do that. We need help. I'm hoping this will give us some relief. I thank you for your time in reading this and any help you may be able to offer.
