After a job opportunity in Florida didn’t work out, I found myself far from home and facing unexpected financial challenges. I had built a life for myself in Colorado, but the move left me in Fernandina Beach, struggling to cover the costs of getting back on my feet. Now, I’m planning to return to Virginia, where I was raised, to reset and rebuild with the support of my community.

Over the past year, I’ve started my own business and have been working hard, including driving for DoorDash and Uber to make ends meet. Unfortunately, putting so many miles on my car has taken a toll, and I’m trying to avoid any more wear unless absolutely necessary. Getting to Virginia is essential so I can work and rebuild my life with more stability. I already have housing lined up, but the biggest hurdle right now is covering the security deposit and first month’s rent so I can secure a place to live.

My loyal 12-year-old Pomeranian Shiba Inu, Rupert, has been by my side through all of this, and I want to make sure we both have a safe, stable home as we start over.
