Help Joe, Shay, and Teddy Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

Hey friends,

I’ve donated to many GoFundMe campaigns in the past, but I never imagined I’d be creating one and asking for help myself. You never think the unthinkable will happen to you or your family—until it does. I’m reaching out to ask for your support. My brother Joe, his wife Shay, and their sweet dog Teddy have just gone through something devastating. A few days ago, they lost their home and everything they owned to the storm surge from Hurricane Helene. They’ve lived in North Redington Beach for over 20 years, and now they’re left with absolutely nothing—no food, no clothes, no possessions, no vehicles. Everything is gone.

Right now, they are in an area with no electricity, no water, and no basic necessities. On top of that, the entire island is devastated, and they’ll likely have to move elsewhere to start over. Joe, at 72, is still working hard in painting and light construction to make ends meet, especially with Shay facing numerous ongoing health challenges that have made it impossible for her to work, but the storm destroyed his work van, which he depends on for his livelihood. It’s been incredibly tough on them, and this disaster has made an already difficult situation even worse.
