My name is Joe, and I’m fundraising for myself and my dog Levi. This month has brought unexpected challenges that have left us without a home and in urgent need of support. My roommate, who I sublet through, was evicted without telling me and stole my December rent. On top of that, the animal hospital where I worked was sold, and since I was hired within the last year, I was laid off.

Right now, Levi and I are staying in hotel rooms,  Thankfully, local nonprofits—APAIT and Wesley Center for Hope—have committed to helping with rental assistance and the security deposit for our next apartment. All I need is a little help to cover hotel costs until I can secure a lease and move in. Your support will help us stay safe, together, and hopeful during this transition.

I wasn’t expecting to spend Christmas and New Year’s in a hotel, but I’m brought to tears with gratitude because I’m able to have Levi with me. If you’re able to help, it would mean the world to us.
