Help Johanna's Family Return Home

On June 3, Johanna and her family were illegally detained by immigration enforcement . Johanna and her family are legal asylum seekers and had an upcoming court date. Her mother received a message informing her to report to the local courthouse for an “appointment” with an immigration officer. Desiring to follow the law so that her family could gain legal status, she showed up with Johanna and her younger sibling. They were immediately taken into ICE custody and quickly transferred to a detention center in Texas.

Johanna is the top student of the 10th grade at Maywood Academy High School, is an athlete on the swim team, and participates in the Hiking Club. She is a valuable member of the school community. We are asking for her and her family to be reunited with her sister and return home to our community.

Joanna, her mother, and her sibling are being held at the South Texas Detention Center. All funds collected will go towards legal services for her and her family. We demand their immediate release. We miss Johanna and her family who belong home in this community.
