Joanie Campbell’s life changed in an instant when her husband, Glenn, suffered a heart event during a bike race in Canada. It’s unknown how long Glenn was without oxygen before he was found, but he was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support for about a week. Joanie arranged for his transport back to the United States, hoping for a miracle. Doctors recommended removing Glenn from life support, as he showed no brain activity. Because he was an organ donor, the donor team was present. Incredibly, when life support was removed, Glenn continued to breathe on his own—a true miracle.
