Dear friends and loved ones,

I write this on behalf of my dear friend and public school teacher, Jimena Salinas.

Here is a message from her.

"Dear friends, loved ones and those I have yet to meet, Though I became a single parent in 2014, I'm now going through one of the most difficult situations I've ever had to deal with. My divorce has become a long and draining process, taking a toll on my children and myself, emotionally and financially.

The most challenging aspects of this divorce are the legal fees, which are putting me in a position to choose between paying for basic necessities, or paying for this legal battle. In addition, there is now a looming uncertainty of the future of my retirement and pension. My income has not changed, yet I am now struggling to make ends meet, and these added expenses are taking a significant toll on my well-being, and the stability of providing for myself and my children, now and in the future.

All contributions go directly toward covering the costs of:

• Legal fees

• Court-ordered counseling and therapy sessions

Any amount you can give will bring me closer to finding closure and starting anew.
