Earlier this year, while traveling for work, I was violently attacked and robbed by two men with an aluminum bat. I was left on a sidewalk, unable to move, begging strangers to help call an ambulance. When I reached the hospital, I learned I had suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken bones in my wrist and leg. Since then, my life has been filled with rehabilitation — physical, occupational, and speech therapy. I’ve worked hard and made real progress, but my health insurance has now stopped covering my treatment. I’m being discharged with nowhere to go, no income, and no family who can take me in. My only sister, whom I hoped to stay with, is unable to help. I’ve applied for state services, but they won’t begin for 4–6 weeks. Right now, I have enough money for less than a week of food and shelter. After that, I don’t know what will happen. I’ve never been homeless, and I’ve never struggled with substance abuse — I’m simply trying to survive and continue healing from something that changed my life forever.
To make it through the next month, I need help covering the cost of safe shelter, daily meals, and transportation to my medical appointments. Your support will go directly toward these essentials, helping me stay safe, nourished, and able to continue my recovery while I wait for state assistance to begin.
I’m asking for help to cover the basics during this transition: safe shelter, food, and transportation to medical appointments. This support would give me a safe place to stay, food to eat, and the ability to get to the medical care I still urgently need. If you can donate, share, or send encouragement, it would mean more than I can express. Your kindness could truly help me through the hardest chapter of my life.
