Help Jihoon Suk Preserve His Rare Vintage Records

UPDATE (3/30/2020): THANK YOU ALL for the incredible support we have seen thus far. It has been a huge help as Mr. Suk transitions his precious research back to Korea. Unfortunately, the costs of this transition exceed the amount of donations previously collected. So once again we are asking you to consider making a contribution during this challenging time. We really don't want to see this wonderful research go to waste simply because of not being able to get it back to Korea.

Mr. Jihoon Suk is an incredible mentor, friend, and scholar. Unfortunately, Mr. Suk has found himself in the position of having not been allowed to continue in his PhD program at the University of Michigan. On top of that, his housing contract will end prior to the end of the semester. Needless to say, he is in need of some help from his friends and colleagues. As a result, he has to unexpectedly return to Korea at the end of this semester, incurring a number of costs for himself and to move his research materials (including a collection of rare vintage records).

Please consider helping contribute in any way you can to help Mr. Suk through this troubling time. 

Mr. Suk has been incredibly generous in helping teach and mentor me and a group of fellow undergraduates as we pursued our research on Korean culture while in Seoul in the summer of 2018. Everyone in my group was inspired by his wealth of knowledge and generous heart. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of Korea, is an incredibly hard worker, and in no ways deserves the misfortune he is currently going through. Please help however you can.

All donations will go directly to Mr. Suk to help him through his intermediary housing, safe storage and transport of his research materials, and whatever else he needs in order to recover from this situation.
