Who We Are:
The Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association of Minnesota (JETAAMN) aims to support former JET Program participants by providing resources for their reintegration into Minnesota, promoting Japanese cultural exchange in the region, and serving as a network hub for Japanese organizations. Founded in 1995, JETAAMN was established to help returnees adjust to life in the U.S. and to foster internationalization and community ties through social events and activities. The association upholds values of professionalism, respect, and excellence while working towards global understanding and peace.
Goal/Mission:
Each year, a conference is hosted for participating chapters in the US, US territories, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Tobago, Trinidad, and Canada. The objective of this conference is to advance efforts that foster cultural understanding and facilitate exchange between Japan and our respective home countries or states.
JETTAA MN (JET Alumni Association of Minnesota) is excited to host this year's 2024 conference this September. While we are still finalizing our panel and speaker lineup, we are considering notable figures as potential speakers for this year's conference.
Hosting a national conference involves significant expenses. While we have a budget for the core aspects of the event, we are actively seeking additional funds to enhance the overall experience and cover logistical costs.
We are seeking donations to reach our goal of $3,000. These funds will support conference logistics, including transportation, hotel arrangements, and speaker fees. We know our extensive alumni network values the JET program and its contributions, and we encourage you to contribute any spare funds to help us achieve our goal.
All donated proceeds will be used for conference expenses. Any surplus funds will be allocated to support future programs hosted by JETAAMN.
