On September 4th, our family’s world changed when my father was taken into ICE custody. He is currently being held at the Miramar Holding Center while we fight to keep our family together.

Just days before, on August 25th, my father received a final order of deportation. We were given only 30 days to file an appeal, which has left our family in an incredibly urgent and frightening situation. We have now retained an experienced immigration attorney to fight his case and pursue every legal option available to us, but the legal fees are extremely high and the time we have to act is very limited.

What makes this situation even more terrifying for our family is my father’s health. He has serious heart problems and recently had two stents placed in his heart. Knowing that he is being detained while dealing with such a serious medical condition has been incredibly difficult for all of us.

We are doing everything in our power to bring my father home and give him the strongest possible chance to remain here with his family. Right now, we are asking our family, friends, community, and anyone who may come across his story for help with the overwhelming legal expenses associated with his immigration case and appeal.

We never imagined we would be in a position where we had to ask for help like this, but right now we cannot do this alone. My father is deeply loved, and we are going to do everything we possibly can to fight for him and bring him home.
