Help Jessica Replace Her Stolen Vehicle

Donation protected
Hi! my name is Julia and my friend Jessica is in a terrible situation by no fault of her own! On Saturday night her teenage daughter Lilo borrowed her car to go to Summerfest with her friend. When she came back to where she parked her mom’s car (in a secured lot), the car was gone.

Jessica or “Miss Jessica”, as she’s known by the kids at Pewaukee School District where she works as a lunch lady and crossing guard, works multiple jobs and has put 2 daughters through college and is sending her 3rd daughter Lilo to George Washington University in Washington DC to study Human Services and Social Justice. Her youngest son is a senior and headed to college in the fall of 2025, so bills are mounting.

To say that this family is benevolent is an understatement! Jessica is a servant based leader who is all heart. Her 4 kids are a chip off the old block! The irony of them having their vehicle stolen is maddening. As a single mom, Jess is the kindest human…if there was a need and the thief asked, she would give them a ride and probably what little money she had.

When the officer called to tell her the vehicle had been crashed Jess’ first comment was “oh my gosh is the homeowner ok?!” Followed up with “how about the kids? Are they safe?” She always shows grace through adversity and God knows she’s experienced enough adversity!

I’m attaching the video of how the story ends. The thieves drove her car into a house on purpose yesterday late morning. Sadly, there are now two victims of this senseless crime! The homeowner is facing uncertainty as they determine if the house is still habitable and Jessica is out a car.

Without a vehicle, Jess can’t get to work and can’t move her daughter to college in 4 weeks. Insurance companies won’t pay out for 30 days after the vehicle is declared “totaled.” They also pay out based on the shape that the vehicle is currently in. The vehicle was treated like part of the family and was in excellent shape despite being a 2016 model before it was intentionally crashed.

Anyone who is thinking “she shouldn’t have bought a KIA!” Here is the deal, when she (and so many others) purchased the car it was a nice, safe, reasonably priced vehicle. No one could have imagined what was going to happen years later with the KIA Boys. Don’t victim blame! These people are stuck with vehicles that they can’t prevent from being stolen, can’t afford to buy new vehicles because the trade in value on the KIAs and Hyundais are brutally low, and can’t sell because of their reputation for being stolen. It’s a no win situation and the manufacturer's are offering no solutions, so the car owners wait until they become victims.

I’m collecting funds to help pay for a down payment on a reliable vehicle for this hard working single mom to replace her vehicle and cover her insurance copayment during the summer months when she is not working at the school.
