Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,
We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a plea for support. On Sunday evening May 26, 2024 after following the joyous celebration of Dominican Mother’s Day tagedy struck my family lives.
My niece, Jessica Chantel Encarnacion who is daughter to Jennifer Encarnacion (my youngest blood sister) was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident. On behalf on my family in Dominican Republic we are humbly asking for your assistance in raising funds to help cover the mounting medical expenses that lie ahead in the coming months.
This weekends accident was a sudden and unexpected event, caused by another driver that lost sight of the road and crashed into the motorcycle Jessica was riding on the back on where she was the only person left injured at the scene. The impact was extremely severe, a being as though during that hour there was no power in the small city of Santo Domingo, the entire family was shocked to have many of the neighbors run over to our matriarch, my Mother’s home to give the devastating news of the accident that occurred just minutes after Jessica left their side.
Jesssica was immediately rushed to Hospital Dr. Dario Contreras, where she she was immediately put into Intensive Care. Tragically, as a result of the accident, the family was told she had suffered from severe head trauma, blood clots in her brain, multiple fractures to her entire right leg, and a broken pelvis. The emotional toll on Jessica, her Mother, my sister, and all those close to her cannot be overstated, and even more overwhelmed by this sudden accident.
Being as though Jessica is located in a third-world country where she is being taken care of ny wonderful doctors and medical professionals the resources are extremely limited and completely out of the hospitals hands, a lot is required of the family to make sure that she is being taken care of properly. Since the day of Jessica’s accident, the family has had to provide her with pillows and sheets for her hospital bed, toiletries for her to use the restroom, and simple over-the-counter sold medical supplies that the hospital does not provide because they simply cannot. While having to have a family member present 24/7 as there is only one nurse to every 20 to 30 patients.
The road to Jessica’s recovery will require extensive medical care. Much is needed for Jessica at this time She is due to undergo multiple surgeries, where the family has to search different blood banks to provide blood for her she she need blood transfusion(s) before they can perform any procedures. To provide more context a pint of blood is approximately $7,500 Pesos ($150 American dollars). And since her accident on Sunday, so far 2 pints have been purchased. The hospital requires that every patient provides at least 5 pints of blood after any trauma accident. It’s required to have that much available until surgery could be performed. It has been a hassle for the family to find even these 2 pints of blood that were very necessary being as though she lost a lot of blood since Sunday.
This accident has left Jessica to be transferred to multiple intensive care rooms where she is still unconscious and delirious from the head trauma and different medications. She currently has no memory of what happened to her to the point when she is conscience, she doesn’t even realize she is in the hospital. Witnessing her condition deteriorate has been heart-wrenching for all of us.
The future is uncertain, and we anticipate there will be numerous medical procedures and treatments Jessica will need until she fully recovers.
These past 24 hours have been unimaginably difficult for us all but especially Jessica‘s mother, who is a breast cancer survivor, and a widow to Jessica‘s father, who has passed 2 years ago. As previously mentioned, a family member has to be present 24 hours so that Jessica could be with attention Should any emergencies happen while she’s at her hospital stay. Since then, multiple family members have been taking turns traveling to the hospital every day to make sure someone is their present with her. And to the most dedicated person her mother who has not left her side. And in doing so she has not been able to work and doesn’t know when she will be able to.
Adding to their challenges, where Jessica was the main breadwinner as she was one of the top nail technicians at a nail salon she was currently working, working to support her mother sister, and two nieces a 4 year old and 2 month old the financial strain her mother and family are now facing is immense, as they navigate mounting medical bills to come, future rehabilitation costs, and the uncertainties surrounding their livelihood, and means to support her. Jessica will need PT, counseling, home equipment / potential home modifications, and undoubtedly all sorts of things we aren’t even aware of yet.
We are asking for your support, both emotionally and financially, during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a tangible difference in easing the burden of medical expenses for Jessica and my dear family. Your generous donations will go towards covering hospital bills, rehabilitation programs, necessary medical equipment, and potential future procedures.
Moreover, we kindly request that you keep Jessica Chantel Encarnacion and her Mother, and sister in your thoughts and prayers. The road to recovery will undoubtedly be challenging, and your moral support will provide them with the strength and courage they need to face each obstacle head-on.

Thank you from the depths of our hearts for your compassion, generosity, and unwavering support.
