Help Jessica have a homebirth

Hi, I’m Jessica, we are having our third baby. Our first two were born in hospital and we are hoping that this one can be born at home with the love of their family.

It has been my dream since my first pregnancy to have a homebirth but being a low income family it has always felt a little out of reach. Since my husband is a massage therapist, he lost his job since the pandemic began and we have been living on unemployment. Sometimes it feels that as a family of lower resources we don’t get as many options in our healthcare. This time I am hoping with a little help with my friends we could afford to have a doula to help us bring this baby to the light at home.

My doula is not just a birth doula but also a post partum. She will help the whole time I am in labor. My care will begin very soon. Her approach is spiritual and holistic. She will help me transition into a mother of three and take care of me and make sure I am getting the support I need. She offers prenatal massage, postnatal massage and birth education getting us ready for this beautiful transition. This will help my husband to take care of our sons and know that I am getting the care I need.

I’m asking help so that we too get to have the experience of homebirth with a safe and thoughtful coach.
