Help Jesse Perform in New Orleans Parade

My son Jesse Dilla has been my greatest support through some of the hardest years of my life. I’ve had sole custody of Jesse since he was five, and now at seventeen, he’s grown into a remarkable young man. He’s never been in trouble, is an excellent student, and has stood by me as I’ve faced stage four liver and colon cancer. For the past two years, Jesse has helped care for me during my chemotherapy, always putting my needs first and showing a strength beyond his years.

Jesse’s true passion is music. He’s played the trumpet in his school band for six years, and it’s become a huge part of his life. This year, his band has the opportunity to travel from Florida to New Orleans to perform in a parade—an experience Jesse has dreamed about. Unfortunately, the costs for travel, lodging, band fees, and meals are more than I can manage right now. The trip will last four days and three nights, and Jesse would be traveling by bus with his bandmates.

I want to give Jesse this chance to do something special for himself, after all he’s done for me. Supporting this fundraiser will help cover the expenses for his trip and give him memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for helping make this dream possible for Jesse.
