Hi everyone,
If you've known me for any length of time, you know that I am not one to ask for help, even when I probably should. But for the sake of these kiddos, I want to give our friends a chance to help us out of a sticky situation. Most of you don't know this, but my 10-year-old brothers, Jesse & Josiah, have been living with me since March due to a house fire and other factors. They had nowhere else to go, and I didn't think twice about having them in my care (they are legally placed with me as a kinship foster care resource), but coping this this significant change, for them and me, has been really tough. Both kids have emotional struggles and Jesse's ADHD diagnosis has made this ordeal especially difficult for him.
The county was supposed to give us some financial assistance, but there has been delay after delay, and we haven't had any consistent assistance. With moving expenses, so the kiddos could have a bedroom, and day-to-day expenses, our financial situation has been getting more difficult by the day. So, I decided it was time to reach out for aid - to get help from our friends to bridge the gap until the county follows through with the promised assistance.
Any donations will go toward rent/bills, day-to-day necessities, and fun or educational activities, such as day camps, tutoring, etc. for the boys to help enhance their lives and prepare them to start middle school in the fall.
Any little bit will help us out, and we will be forever grateful.
