Jess is a retired disabled veteran living in Enid, Mississippi. After serving as a Marine in the U.S. military, he now faces severe spinal stenosis and mental health disorders that make it impossible for him to work. Jess lives on a very limited fixed income in a small trailer, and every day is a struggle to cover even the most basic needs. Recently, the transmission in his car failed, leaving him without transportation and unable to save for a replacement due to his financial situation.
Without a car, Jess cannot get to the VA for his monthly shot that helps manage his mental health. He is also unable to get groceries or attend medical appointments. Jess has always tried to give back, spending much of his time volunteering at his church’s food pantry, but now he’s unable to continue helping others in his community. Reliable transportation is essential for Jess’s health, independence, and ability to stay connected with the world around him.
Jess is in a difficult and hopeless situation, but having a functional car would restore his ability to meet his basic needs and keep his mental health on track. Any support will make a real difference in his life, helping him regain stability and continue serving his community.
