Hi Everyone!
My name is Jenny Kemp and I am a current Nursing student at the School of Health Professions of New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury. I have been selected to participate in my school's Medical Outreach Program, where 13 other students and I will be traveling to Greece to provide urgent medical care for displaced refugees. I am so honored to have the opportunity to offer compassionate care to those in need.
The resilient men, women, children, and unaccompanied minors we will be working with have given up their homes and communities in the hopes of living a better life. They have made the treacherous journey from various countries in Africa as well as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan to Greece in hopes to heal and get back on their feet. My group and I hope to aid them in any way they need, supplying them with medical care and therapies as well as emotional and financial support. We are teaming up with Love without Borders: For Refugees in Need, SAMS, Help Your Neighbor Organization, and The STEAMM Initiative: For Refugees in Need to connect with these families and accomplish our goals.
My colleagues and I are responsible for bringing numerous medical supplies as well as funds for food, baby formula, and clothes. I am asking for your support to bring these supplies with me. Any amount you are able to contribute will make a difference!
