Help Jennifer get her son the help he needs!

I am doing this for a longtime friend of mine. Her and her family are going through a really tough time right now and I wanted to do something to help ease the stress a little. My friend’s son is being accused of a crime that will affect him for the rest of his life. He has never been violent, he does not like confrontation and will usually turn and walk away from the situation.
Him and his wife have been together since they were 12 years old (more than half their lives) and have 2 children together. They had been going through some rough times and met up to talk. The talk led into an argument and things escalated. He's being accused of a crime that in no way is ok but that doesn't justify him sitting in jail based solely on lack of money at this point.
He has been sitting in jail since this all happened in May. I want more than anything for her to get her son home and to get him the mental health help he needs. Due to a new law passed in April the courts refused the request to lower his bail to a reasonable amount. I don’t understand how the courts can find it ok to keep someone in jail for this long without any type of help mentally. The only thing keeping him in the jail is money. He has every right to post bail if the funds were available.
The family is currently looking for a doctor that will be able to visit him in the jail. This is a difficult and expensive task. If he was home this process would look much different. To complicate the situation the County jail is under construction and isn't currently equipped to handle long term stays. At this point he hasn't even seen the sun/outdoors (not even through a window) in 3 months. This alone doesn't help mental health. Even convicted criminals in prison get to see the sunshine. There is no in-person visitation allowed in this County jail for anyone, so they also haven't been able to see each other except in the courtroom from a distance.
Being someone who suffers from mental health myself, I really want to help Jenn get her son home so he can talk to someone.
Please help Jenn and her family to get their son home or at least pay for a doctor that can visit him in the jail.
