After nine years of enduring every kind of abuse—physical, verbal, emotional, and mental—I finally found the courage to escape with my 10-year-old son. We left our home in the dark of night, carrying nothing but a small duffle bag, a change of clothes, and the shoes on our feet. The only money I had was taken from my son's account, leaving us with almost nothing. We spent nights under a tarp someone gave us, but at least we are free from the pain and fear that controlled our lives for so long.

Starting over has been overwhelming and heartbreaking. My son has only two outfits, and I’ve had to wash them in creek water. I lost my job and the financial security that was supposed to support us. Despite everything, my son chose to stay by my side, telling me, 'Momma, you’re not alone. The people love you and the man up above loves us too.' His words give me hope, and I pray every day that we can find a small cottage in the country—a place where he can feel safe and run free again.

I am working two jobs, walking miles to get there, but it’s not enough to cover our basic needs. Donations will help us secure a home, buy everyday necessities and hygiene items, get clothes, and hopefully a car so I can keep working and provide stability for my son.
