Our hearts are heavy as I write this.

Our beautiful, strong, and kind-hearted big sister, Jen, has been diagnosed with breast cancer at only 40 years old. It’s a moment you never imagine happening to someone you love—until it does.

She’s the kind of person who gives without expecting anything in return, and who shows up for everyone—no matter what. Now she’s facing something no one should have to face alone. Jen has a long road ahead of her filled with surgery, radiation, endless doctors’ appointments, and possibly chemotherapy. She’s doing her best to stay strong, but no one should have to fight this battle alone on top of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with this diagnosis. And yet, she keeps smiling and pushing through her days. She keeps showing strength. But behind that strength is a growing weight—physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

We’re starting this GoFundMe because we want to ease at least one part of this burden. The costs of treatment, medications, time off work, and daily living expenses that doesn’t get put on hold for anyone.

If you know Jen, you know how much of a bad ass she is and fiercely she loves and stands up for those who she loves. Now it’s time for us to love her just as fiercely in return.
