Thankfully most parents are unaware of the unique challenges faced by those of us who have a disabled child. In addition to the usual work that goes into raising a typical child, there are multiple difficulties faced by parents to special needs kiddos.

It starts on the day that mom and dad realize that their baby is different. It may be a visible disability or something unseen but the journey has begun and it is a path you will be on for the rest of your life and then some. Every one of us who has received the news that our child faces a different type of obstacle that we had not expected goes through a painful process. We ask why my child? What did they do? What did we do? How can we possibly handle this? What happens when we're gone?

For nineteen years my wife and I have been loving parents to our precious Julia. She is my princess and a blessing but she's come with a set of disabilities which we deal with every day. She may be nineteen chronologically but developmentally she is eighteen months old and always will be. She wears braces on her legs and we use a wheelchair to transport her any real distance. She wears diapers. She also loves music and cookies.

Am I asking you to donate to Julia? No not at all! I'm a professional broadcaster and have been for a couple of decades. I have volunteered countless hours to a wide variety of charities serving the disabled. I serve on multiple boards. But what is missing in all of this is a father who is comfortable with public speaking sharing what it's really like to raise a disabled child. This is where I am asking you to please help.

I have been developing presentations which I would like to deliver around the country to parents with a disabled child. I want to be honest, open and forthright in addressing their fears, as well as their hopes. I have truly walked in the same shoes. I've spent many sleepless hours wondering why. Julia's story has been told in various ways over the years, but the story that my wife and I have lived is still untold.

While I have won a variety of awards for broadcasting, I need the help of the best of the best when it comes to crafting this most special speech. I've done extensive research to find the very finest program to help me with the most important project of my life and this is why I have created this GFM.

I've been a devoted student of the late Zig Ziglar for a long time and after much thought and prayer I know that the key to me successfully honing this unique presentation will be achieve through attendance at The Ziglar Speakers Institute and completion of The Ziglar Legacy Certification along with some other additional specialized training.

The Ziglar training is world class and the brand is recognized around the globe. It's also a sizeable investment but one that I am convinced will propel me to the appropriate platforms to help other moms and dads to disabled children.
