We are the family of Jeff Hersh and we are creating this GoFundMe for him after he recently suffered an unimaginable loss.
Back in April of this year Jeff’s upstairs neighbor’s pipe burst causing flooding in his entire condo. Jeff was forced to move out and stay in a hotel for the last 6+ months while the repairs took place. A mitigation company provided by his insurance company packed up all of his belongings and moved them into a storage unit for the time being. Among these items were all his furniture, clothes, and basic household belongings, as well as his most treasured possessions… family photo albums, childhood items, baby books, his daughter’s childhood belongings, a lifetime of personal and special memories / keepsakes, and most importantly his late wife’s ashes, all of their wedding albums and her wedding dress.
Months later when his condo was finally ready to move back into, Jeff learned that the storage unit containing all his belongings had been mishandled by the mitigation company leading to an auction of the storage unit. All of his belongings were sold off and are gone!
It is unlikely that he will be able to retrieve anything and all of his belongings are lost forever :(

Jeff and his daughter Kate are devastated and heartbroken. The loss goes far beyond the physical items, he lost pieces of his family’s history, memories, and sacred remnants of his late wife who passed away when their daughter was just 4 years old.
Although there is no amount of money that can ever replace or make up for his unthinkable loss, we are asking for your help to raise funds to support Jeff and Kate as they work toward rebuilding what can be replaced.
