Supporting Jeff & Brandy Volling Through an Unexpected Journey
On Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, life changed in an instant for Jeff and Brandy Volling.
For a few days, Jeff hadn’t been feeling quite right — battling nausea, dizziness, loss of coordination, and disorientation. Early that morning, things took a frightening turn when Jeff suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed. Brandy immediately called for help, and he was rushed to Lake Saint Louis Hospital, where doctors discovered a small brain bleed. While initially believing it wasn’t life-threatening, the medical team decided to transfer Jeff to SLU Hospital, knowing they were better equipped to handle serious brain injuries and wanted to follow every precaution.
By the time Jeff arrived at SLU and was admitted to Trauma 1, his condition had worsened. What had begun as a “small bleed” quickly escalated into a critical situation. Stroke protocol was initiated, countless scans were ordered, and Brandy stood helplessly waiting for answers as her husband was surrounded by doctors in one of the busiest trauma units imaginable. Amid the chaos of that night—crowded with emergencies, patients, and victims of unimaginable events —Jeff’s fight for stability began.
Jeff was ultimately diagnosed with a cavernous carcinoma, requiring emergency brain surgery to relieve pressure and prevent further damage. The days since have been filled with uncertainty, fear, and hope. Brandy has remained faithfully by his side, supporting him through every step of this unthinkable journey, while trying to manage the emotional and financial toll that comes with such a sudden medical crisis.
Those who know Brandy know that she has spent her life giving her heart to others. As a longtime, devoted school teacher(over 20 plus year in the Wentzville School District), she has poured countless hours into nurturing her students, lifting up colleagues, and spreading kindness throughout her community. Her compassion, patience, and unwavering love have made a lasting difference in so many lives. Now, it’s our turn to give that same love and care back to her.
Unfortunately, this season has brought additional challenges. Jeff was laid off from his job in March, leaving the Vollings a single-income family surviving on Brandy’s teacher salary and extra Door Dash earnings to make ends meet. To make matters more difficult, Brandy is scheduled for rotator cuff surgery in a few weeks, which will leave her unable to work extra hours delivering food and will make caring for herself—and Jeff during his recovery—an even greater struggle.
Their friends, family, and community are coming together to lift some of this heavy burden. Mounting medical bills, upcoming rehabilitation costs, and weeks of lost income have created financial strain at a time when their focus needs to remain on healing and recovery. Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward helping Jeff and Brandy manage these expenses and regain some stability.
Jeff and Brandy have always been the kind of people who show up for others with kindness, generosity, and heart. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.
Please consider donating, sharing their story, and keeping them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
❤️ Thank you for helping support Jeff and Brandy Volling. Your love means more than words can express.
