Hello, my name is Jeff.

I’m a single dad of a 16-year-old son who attends ETHS, a dog, and a cat. I have been raising my son without his mother for over 10 years, facing many challenges and last week, after a roommate dispute, we were forced to leave our apartment because the environment was unsafe for my family.

We are currently staying in a hotel and desperately need help getting together funds for a deposit on a new apartment, first month’s rent, and moving expenses. This time of uncertainty is taking a toll on my son’s mental health, as you can imagine. He also has basketball and football summer camps at ETHS, so we really need stability and a safe location in Evanston.

I’ve been blessed with great coworkers who have been supportive of our situation. I am employed full-time, but unfortunately, I was not prepared to become homeless overnight. We are currently staying at an Extended Stay in Skokie within walking distance of work. The cost is just under $100 a night so it will be difficult to pay that cost while also trying to get together money to move into a new apartment in Evanston.
