Help Jeff and Courtney Grow their Family with IVF

Hello my friends, this sure has been a wild ride.
Many of you know Jeff and I have been trying for a very long time to grow our family. Anyone that has experienced infertility knows this journey is full of ups and downs, maybe even upside downs like a wild roller coaster. During this ride you laugh, you cry (you definitely cry), you get excited, and you get let down, but either way you're strapped in and seeing it through because it will all be worth it in the end. Welcome to IVF.
When our insurance began partially covering IVF this year we knew in our hearts it was worth a shot, but weren't quite prepared for the large financial costs associated. We have been through many years of other fertility treatments, surgery, and lots of negative pregnancy tests before making the decision to move forward. We are so lucky to have a great community of support, especially here in Salt Lake. Our friends have been with us as we went through the steps, for the excitement and the tears. You all have helped us find hope even when things got really hard and for this we are forever grateful. While our emotional support cups are very full, our financial ones are getting pulled from heavily. For transparency our insurance covered 13,000 (our maximum) and we have paid almost 9,000 out of pocket. IVF is not cheap, but here we are now with three happy and healthy little embryos waiting in the freezer.
And this is where we ask for help. Our first embryo transfer will hopefully be in late December or early January and will cost around 4,000. IVF is a gamble with 50/50 odds. There is a high chance we will have to try again and maybe even a third time, or that we might not be successful at all. Each time will cost the same. We are trying to raise 8,000 to cover two transfers and anything over would go towards the third if needed or to cover other associated costs.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, well we need that village to help make one. The financial burden of IVF shouldn't be what holds back those who want to become parents. Jeff and I are hopeful that next year our family will have a new little buddy for Remy (our dog) to cuddle. Every little bit counts and with your help maybe our hope can become a reality.
All the love,
Courtney + Jeff (and Remy)
