No one should spend the holidays living in their car. Jeannette Fernandez lost everything but the clothes she was wearing when her RV caught fire on Monday, Dec 9th, in Pahokee, FL. She tried to go back in to rescue two of her cats but was pulled away for her own safety. She’s a 65 year old breast cancer survivor with an extensive medical history, living alone with no family. She’s unable to work, has no where to go and no where to live, so she’s currently living in her car in front of the burnt up RV. Community members are trying to help her to get the lot cleaned up, and the charred RV moved out of the spot. Any donations are greatly appreciated to get her back on her feet. The plan is to get her a small RV to help get a roof over her head.
