Help Jayden gain independence with a mobility scooter
Donation protected
My gorgeous godson Jayden is 16 now and much to his delight is growing, and growing and growing into a gorgeous young man. Jayden has a rare form of Downs Syndrome (Translocation Downs Syndrome) he also suffered brain damage at birth and has a left cerebral brain infarction. He is partially sighted (Nystagmus) has severe verbal dyspraxia. Hypermobility a heart defect. And recently diagnosed with scoliosis. He relies on his wheelchair for longer walks due to all the effects his disabilities have on him. He also has no depth perception due to his poor vision so can only walk on flat even ground. Unfortunately due to Charlene's brain tumour and subsequent brain surgery she is no longer able to push Jayden which means days out have been reliant on Alan being off work. Unfortunately with Alan's recent Cancer treatment he is also struggling as Jayden is far from a small young man to push him in his wheelchair. He has had to reduce his hours at work due to the affects of treatment and has been referred to late onset radiotherapy clinic at Norfolk and Norwich. Jayden doesn't have the strength to push himself so the family are finding it harder and harder to get out. This summer they have tried hiring mobility scooters for Jayden and it has made a huuuuuuge difference to the day. Jayden has gained independence and a sense of worth. Charlene and I have gone to specialist shops to look at mobility scooters but they are so extortionate and the family are struggling financially from the last 2 years of both their health complications. He has been accepted by Wizzkids but they have a 3 year waiting list which is just crazy. So I've set up this page to see if we can get this gorgeous young man his own wheels and give him his independence when the family are out and about but this will also ease the pressure on the family to. Thankyou for reading Jaydens story if you are unable to donate please help by sharing xxxxx
