Help Jayden have a custom adaptive bike built

Donation protected

For those that don’t know our family/Jayden

My wife and I adopted Jayden when he was 3
years old. He has autism, cerebral palsy and a
genetic disorder called DiGeorge syndrome (mild mental retardation) but that has not limited his
ability to love nor our ability to welcome him into
our family with open arms as one of our own
children.

As some of you know, I really enjoy building and
riding bikes but sadly Jayden will probably never
be able to ride a bike on his own due to his
diagnosis and some of the challenges and
responsibilities that riding require.

He is now 12years old and obviously too big to
put in a typical bike trailer, etc... so I started
thinking about other options to get him to go on
rides with us.
We looked into adaptive bikes but not only do they come with a 3-5k price tag, we wouldn’t be
comfortable with him steering himself.   So.......
. flash forward to yesterday when I posted on a
group bmx Facebook page looking for someone to hopefully help build up a bike for me to ride with
an additional adult-sized seat either on the side of
it or attached to the front of it and WOW....the
response was nothing short of amazing! .

The outpouring of love, suggestions, and even
donations started actually tearing us up.   Needless to say, we have teamed up with a very generous
family of another special needs child who’s father
is a builder/welder/owner of a San Diego shop
called CoolRydes Customs.   He has offered to
build something up for Jayden for the cost of
materials only and is not charging a penny for his
time/effort. Such a great guy/family and an
amazing gesture that we are extremely grateful for.

Since people have messaged me asking for my PayPal and/or address to donate to Jayden, I figured it would be easier to try to set up this page.

our goal is around 1000.00 to hopefully cover the materials and transportation from so cal to
phoenix but anything and everything helps

we can’t wait for j to feel the wind In his hair , the
sun on his skin and freedom of going FAST on a
bike!!!

thanks for reading everyone!
