Hi everyone! My name is Jasmine. I am a photographer and creator from West Philly. I’m reaching out because I’ve unexpectedly found myself in a really difficult housing situation, and I could use some help getting through it.

I had a room lined up to move into with my friend on September 1st. I was supposed to join her existing lease, so I planned around only needing to cover my normal monthly expenses rather than a large upfront move-in cost.

Unfortunately, we just found out that her landlord is terminating her lease after an unexpected change with another tenant. This means the housing arrangement I had planned on for September is no longer available, and the both of us are currently left with no place to stay come September.

The timing is especially difficult because my current place has already been arranged for a new tenant, and I was asked to be out by September 1st. I now have only a little over a week to figure out somewhere to stay.

I will only have around $400 by the 1st, which isn’t enough to cover the first month’s rent, security deposit, and other moving costs that would typically be required to get into a new place. I’m actively looking into temporary housing, rooms, and rental assistance, but I need some financial breathing room while I figure everything out.

I’m asking for help with immediate housing expenses, including a security deposit, first month’s rent, transportation, storage/moving costs, and basic necessities while I get settled.

I know that everyone has their own expenses and that this is a very sudden situation. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to me. Additionally if you have any leads for housing, especially any pet friendly options, please let me know!
