Hi everyone,

My name is Makayla, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Jasmine McCowan and her beautiful daughter Aubreigh, who are facing an incredibly difficult time right now.

A few months ago, Jasmine contracted COVID-19, which changed her life forever. What started as a virus has left her with a list of long-term health conditions including:

Fibromyalgia

Chronic migraines

Degenerating discs in her neck and lower back

Memory loss, mobility issues, and speech difficulties

And ongoing mental health struggles

She now relies on a cane or walker to get around and has been advised by her doctors to apply for disability. But, as many know, that’s a long and uncertain process—and Jasmine simply doesn’t have time on her side. She’s on her second neurologist and continues to navigate countless appointments and evaluations, all while trying to care for her daughter.

Aubreigh, Jasmine’s young daughter, has her own complex medical needs, including:

Pre-diabetes

Severe asthma and allergies

Level 1 Autism

ADHD (combined type)

A mood disorder

PTTD (a painful foot condition)

And incontinence issues

She receives in-home therapy and sees specialists regularly. Jasmine and Aubreigh both see therapists to help manage the emotional toll of their conditions.

Right now, they are facing the very real possibility of losing their housing. Jasmine is unable to work due to her medical situation, and resources are running out. They urgently need help to secure a safe and stable home while Jasmine awaits disability approval and continues her health journey.

We are asking for $8,000 to help cover:

First month’s rent & security deposit

Temporary housing or emergency shelter if needed

Transportation to medical appointments

Basic living expenses (groceries, hygiene items, etc.)

Jasmine is one of the strongest, most loving people I know. She has fought so hard to care for Aubreigh through everything, even when her own body is giving out on her. This family deserves safety, stability, and support.
