Help Jasmine and Justin Avoid Eviction

Hi, my name is Jasmine. I’m currently living in an apartment that I can no longer afford. I live with my 3 animals as well as my boyfriend. We have had quite the struggle this year, and you must wonder how and why! We both got fired in January from a job we had for 3 years because of certain situations with managers that were higher up and had more power than me and my boyfriend. We ultimately got the worst end and they initially fired or let us go with no contact of it happening, only to find out we got kicked off of everything, which put us in the worst spot ever in our lives because it was our full income.

Fast forward, before the apartment we got into, we were living in one that had rent up to $1,300 a month, which slowly became hard on us considering the fact that we got fired so fast and didn’t even get to complete our last 2 weeks. We were forced to come up with money, which meant putting ourselves in debt and selling a car that we had. At this point, months fast forward, I was slowly losing the payments on my car while we both struggled to find steady jobs. It got harder after we both put in more than 40 applications for literally every store that was close by and possibly farther. My boyfriend was able to find a job, but considering that it was part-time at HEB, they only offered him 1-3 days a week. I was doing what I could with my vehicle, which meant doing food deliveries while racking up my miles, but still mentioning that my car was at any time going to be taken from me!

We struggled to get rent, got as much help as we could, draining people, and appreciated everything from them!

Soon, we made the decision to move into a smaller place with a lot cheaper rent, up to $890. But as I struggled more because I couldn’t find a job, I did as many favors and anything that had to do with money. Even having to take care of three animals and having to keep up with materials and food to eat was hard.
In the past month, I’ve only made $250, and that was barely scraping anything because I don’t have a car anymore. I lost it 2 months ago, and so I’m grateful to have people that help take us places and lend me their car if needed. But when that happens, you have to work around people as they do for you.

But God heard me struggle, and now I have a job. But the worst part is, it’s a blessing and the timing was off. We are now late on our 3rd rent at our new place by the 10th of December. We got signed for eviction, basically it having to happen either before Christmas or after! This means we got charged late fees and lawyer and court fees, which brought us to $1,200. Now the first will hit, and it will be over 2 grand. It’s a lot to take in because we believe so much happens for a reason, and things are happening to show us we can be strong. But yet, I know life gets hard. I’ve never thought to feel like I have nowhere to go because of the family I’m creating!
I want to say thank you for being here and reading this. As of today, December 24th, Christmas Eve, all we want is to be here in what we call our home and not sacrifice this to have an eviction on our records.

Any donation would be deeply appreciated.
