I left for Jamaica on Wednesday, October 22, to celebrate our honeymoon without any knowledge of a possible hurricane. I booked our reservation at one of the resorts in Negril, Jamaica. I didn't have knowledge of a hurricane until that Friday, October 24, when one of the employees informed us. I immediately attempted to reschedule our flights with Southwest and were told all Southwest flights had been grounded. This was still 2 days before Hurricane Melissa even made landfall.

I have been attempting to get flights out of here ever since. Even trying to book with other airlines, they were completely booked. Southwest just continues to keep canceling flights. In the midst of the storm, there is price gouging on things needed to survive. The resort also had guests paying for rooms in a safer area of the resort to ultimately put us all together on cots in the dining hall.

I am asking for help to get home. I have completely tapped out on all resources for funds. I have no internet or Wi-Fi unless we travel a good mile to another resort that has reception. As flights are being canceled and some are non-refundable, we are in a catch-22. Please help us get home; anything helps. My name is Tory Byther and I am over seeing campaign on behalf of my cousin.
