Janis has touched the lives of countless people in our community. She owns a beautiful, historic home—the second oldest in North Bennington—that has been a gathering place for friends, students, and neighbors over the years. Unfortunately, due to some significant deferred maintenance, Janis now faces the difficult reality that urgent repairs are needed for her to remain in her beloved home. Despite her independent spirit and reluctance to ask for help, the situation has reached a point where support from the community is essential. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward making Janis’s home safe and secure. The most pressing need is repairing the roof, which is critical to preserving the house and ensuring Janis can continue to live there. As the contractors open up the roof for repair there are likely to be some other issues to deal with.
