Very sadly, Janine and her daughter Lilly have experienced a devastating house fire at their home in Illogan, Redruth and have lost almost all of their belongings. While much of the damage was caused by smoke and water, the kitchen was completely destroyed, and the home is currently uninhabitable.

At the time of the fire, Lilly was inside the house and required medical attention. Thankfully she is now safe, but the emotional and practical impact on both of them has been immense.

Janine had to stay with a friend last night and, heartbreakingly, currently has nothing with her except her nursing uniform. Like so many others in this situation, she and Lilly are starting again from nothing.

How your support will help (immediate needs):

Right now, the biggest need is financial support so Janine can purchase essential items as and when they’re needed over the coming weeks while they are in temporary accommodation. This includes:

Clothing

Bedding

Toiletries

Day-to-day essentials

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards helping Janine and Lilly regain some stability during this incredibly difficult time.

Looking ahead:

Once they are able to return home, they will need to refurnish much of the house, including kitchen equipment, bedding, towels, and other household essentials. Support of any kind will mean more than words can express.

Janine has always been there for others through her work and her kindness. Now it’s our turn to be there for her and Lilly.
