Hi, my name is Amanda and my immeasurably wonderful uncle Skip recently passed away after a four-year battle with cancer, and we need help getting my equally amazing aunt Janet moved from central IL to the Chicago suburbs to live close to her cherished one-and-only granddaughter, daughter, and son-in-law.

With her blessing, we are trying to make her move as easy as possible, and hiring a company to pack and move her up north would help immensely.

Janet and Skip celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year, and they have always been a role model in my life of a couple who supports one another, stands by each other, and loves one another unconditionally, through the hardest of times and the best of times. Losing Skip has been devastating on the entire family, but the financial strain of trying to sell the house, find a place up north to be near her family, and actually get moved is a burden we want to lighten in any way we can.

About Janet: She is a generous, selfless, caring, compassionate person, who is also incredibly funny, thoughtful, smart, and strong. She will do literally anything to help the people in her life, and equally as much to help animals in need. She has made countless donations to animal rescue and welfare organizations, built a shelter on her porch--complete with heating pads--for stray cats in her neighborhood, taken in rescued pets from her daughter when her granddaughter was allergic, and even left out food for baby raccoons (which she soon learned might not have been the best idea, but it came from a place of deep love and devotion to all living creatures).

Janet is fun and funny, and wants dearly to be closer to her 8-year-old granddaughter so she can be the "Reading Lady" at her elementary school, or even a "Lunch Lady" who opens milk cartons for the kids. She is eager to live closer to her granddaughter, daughter, and son-in-law and additional family up north, but making it a reality is challenging financially.

Your Generous Support: I am asking for your help to lessen the financial burden my aunt is facing. Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated by Janet and the entire family. All contributions will go toward moving costs (hiring packers and movers), and anything additional beyond our target goal will go toward realtor, home repairs, or move-in costs to expedite getting her house sold and finding her a place close to her family.
