Help James Fight MECFS

Donation protected
James has Severe MECFS  and is currently in a health crisis. This disease is commonly misunderstood and not taken seriously by many healthcare providers. It has been an excruciating battle for him and his family. A talented musician and artist, James has been bed bound for over a year. On a good day James can chew his food, scratch his face, and very minimally adjust himself in bed. Even on a good day, he can’t lift his arm to feed himself or take a drink on his own. He can’t listen to music, look at a screen, or think complex thoughts. What makes this even more difficult is the lack of understanding from health care professionals and the government. He was not able to get disability or any assistance at all. Things that anyone in his condition should have access to. This puts the financial burden of expensive medical devices, medication, at home doctors visits and specialists, solely on his family. The amount of research, phone calls, and googling it has taken for them to find someone to even give them the chance to troubleshoot the very severe situation and help come up with a treatment plan has been exhausting. The fight is still happening. An overwhelming amount of healthcare professionals don’t recognize this as a real diagnosis.

This is from his sister Joy, "If you care but don't know what he is going through, please google "Severe MECFS  ". Your understanding matters, your empathy matters, your love and kindness matter. He has a condition that is so misunderstood that he, a completely bed-bound and disabled young man, has been denied disability. This is COMMON. Imagine suffering as he does, this devastating disease robbing you of everything - and not even being considered legitimate. We are desperate. But James is here. He is fighting. He is the strongest person I know. And he wants you to know that he is sorry he cannot read any of your messages...but he is grateful for YOU and your support"

We created this Go Fund Me as an opportunity to bless James and his family, however small or large you can, would be so greatly appreciated.

Support will help with medical appointments, at home doctors visits, specialised equipment needed to care for him. His mother moved him into her own home and created a safe place for him and takes care of him around the clock often staying up all night while dealing with her own autoimmune disease. She has had to stop working to be able to take care of him. The financial burden on her to provide for both of them as well as her daughter, who is also on disability for brain damage from a car accident, is way too hard. We want her to be able to focus on him and not feel the pain of not knowing what the future will hold for their security. If we can help ease just this one burden amongst what seems like a million others, it would make a world of a difference.

James is a talented musician and artist and has produced many amazing works. You can follow him on Instagram @james_strazza.
