Unfortunately, Mama Deding has passed away. She couldn't wait any longer for James to arrive. With heavy heart we mourn but with comfort knowing that she is now resting and no more pain. I’ve raised the target from 2k to 3k so that the entire family—James, Vibz, and Orlev—can be with him. The flights are extremely costly, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has donated so far. To everyone who knows James—fondly called Palavs—you’ll know what an incredible person he is. Palavs is loving, hardworking, funny, and above all, selflessly generous. He doesn’t just give financially but also gives his time, energy, and care to those around him. If you live in Aberdeen, chances are he’s made you laugh and brightened your day. His remarkable character stems from a deep love for his family, whom he holds dear.

Since he was just 17, Palavs has worked tirelessly to support his loved ones as their main provider. He’s the guy who never hesitates to take on extra shifts, often without a single day off, just to ensure his family—both in the UK and back in the Philippines—are cared for.

For the past two years, his beloved mum, Mama Deding, has been in and out of the hospital. Palavs has done everything possible to cover her medical expenses, but the cost has been overwhelming, totaling to hundreds thousand in pesos. Most of his earnings goes toward hospital bills, medications and supporting his family, leaving little to no room for savings.

Today, we received the heartbreaking news that Mama Deding has had another seizure and is no longer responding to medication. Despite his limited resources, Palavs is still fighting for her, considering every possible option to give her a chance. But even with surgery, the doctors have told them there’s no guarantee she will recover. After much heartbreak, the family has decided to prepare for the inevitable and focus on giving Mama Deding peace and love in her final moments.

Palavs’ greatest wish now is to be by his mum’s side, to hold her, kiss her, and say his final goodbye. This is the hardest journey he’s ever had to face, and we want to help make it possible for him to go home.

We’re reaching out to all who know and love Palavs to rally behind him during this difficult time. The cost of flights, hospital bills, and other expenses is overwhelming, and we’re asking for your help. Any contribution, big or small, will help ease the financial burden so Palavs can focus on what truly matters—being with his mum.
