My name is Brittanice Comrie, my entire family and I are originally from Jamaica. Although I now live in Fort Lauderdale, my heart and my family are still in Jamaica, especially in Westmoreland which is one of the regions hit the hardest by Hurricane Melissa. This hurricane didn’t just damage homes; it shattered entire communities where my family & friends live. Many of them lost everything in a matter of hours roofs torn off, streets flooded, homes destroyed, and basic necessities washed away. Westmoreland Parish was hit especially hard, facing some of the most severe impacts, but the devastation stretches across the entire island of Jamaica. Massive flooding and collapsed roads have isolated many communities, and widespread power and communication outages may last for weeks.Hearing their voices tremble as they describe the devastation has been one of the hardest moments of my life. Because South Florida is so close to Jamaica, we’re in a unique position to quickly mobilize resources, supplies, and partnerships to get help where it’s needed most. But we can’t do it alone. I’m asking for your support to provide immediate relief, food, clean water, medical supplies, and temporary shelter for families in Westmoreland and other devastated communities who are struggling to survive and rebuild. Every contribution makes a real impact.
Please donate and share Jamaica needs us now more than ever. This funds will be going directly to the family members who currently have no homes or essential items and food for themselves and their children.
With heartfelt gratitude,
thank you for standing with Jamaica during this difficult time.
Through faith, love, and unity, we will rebuild stronger than ever.
