There are moments when a person chooses conviction over comfort, obedience over convenience, and service over personal security. Jake Merrick did that when he stepped forward to run for Governor of Oklahoma.

Jake did not run because it was easy. He did not run because he had the biggest name, the deepest pockets, or the institutional machine behind him. He ran because he believed Oklahoma families were worth fighting for. He ran because he believed faith, truth, freedom, and integrity still matter. He ran because he believed real change begins with ordinary people who are willing to stand up and do what is right.

This was a true grassroots campaign. Jake, Nicole, their family, and countless volunteers gave their time, energy, prayers, and resources to carry a message of hope across the state. They knocked doors, drove miles, talked with neighbors, prayed with people, and encouraged many who had almost given up on politics altogether.

Even after the election, Jake’s own words showed the kind of man he is:

“We are proud of the race we ran… We woke up in peace. And this is irreplaceable. Knowing we did everything we were supposed to do, the way we were supposed to do it is a reward in itself.”

That peace came at a real cost.

In order to run this race and keep fighting for the people of Oklahoma, Jake put his own family’s home on the line through around $280,000 mortgage obligation. He stepped out in faith, believing the call was worth the sacrifice. Now, although the campaign is over, that burden remains, and Jake and Nicole are facing the possibility of losing their home.

This fundraiser is an opportunity for those who were inspired, encouraged, and strengthened by Jake’s courage to now encourage him and his family in return.

Many people have said that Jake’s campaign was not the end of a story, but the beginning of one. He proved that a principled grassroots candidate can make a difference. He gave hope to people who felt forgotten. He reminded many Oklahomans that hard work, truth, prayer, and conviction still matter.

Now we have the chance to stand with a family that gave so much.

Funds raised here will go toward helping Jake and Nicole protect their family home and relieve the mortgage burden that was taken on during this race.
